A series of measures to create a safe environment for your staff and customers.

2020 has been an extraordinary year for all. Schools closed for most pupils, parents became teachers, Joe Wicks became a national treasure and our favourite past time of travel ground to a halt. On the plus side we’ve all mastered the art of banana bread and for those who continued their commute finally found a seat on the rush hour train; free from the daily laptop bag to the face or finding your head nestled in a fellow passenger’s armpit.

The biggest challenge for companies highlighted by the transport industry is creating peace of mind for the user and providing a safe work environment for staff. Whilst passenger numbers on ‘planes, trains and automobiles’ have dwindled, the risk of infection remains.

Major organisations across a wide spectrum of industries have taken positive steps to create safer environments with a proactive approach to cleaning. Updated policies, increased cleaning schedules and more importantly the introduction of more effective products as a preventive measure.

Monday 16th November ITV news highlighted Southern and Thameslink trains were using a long-lasting virucide, which is Zoono’s Z71 Microbe Shield. Govia Thameslink Railway randomly selected carriages up to 23 days after the carriages had been treated. The test areas focused on locations frequently touched by passengers and staff, these included grab rails, tables, toilet handles and door buttons.

The results tested negative for Covid-19 and provides further evidence that long-lasting preventative sanitisers offer safer environments.

As real-world evidence grows, as does the list of companies and industries using Zoono to provide safe environments. Cross industry learning has developed an understanding of best practice. All sectors and businesses should be taking responsibility for staff and users if you’re not why?

A series of measures that all businesses small or large should put in place.

  1. Policy and Education
Educate your workforce, create clear guidance within your company handbook informing staff of your intentions and expectations. Highlighting the importance of maintaining both personal hygiene and a clean workplace. Clearly educate about the consequences of unsanitary conditions.
  1. Regular Cleaning
This would seem to be the most obvious point however increased cleaning is the most effective way to reduce the spread of infection and maintain a hygienic workplace. Identify frequently touched areas, handles, push plates, buttons, touchscreens etc. High-touch points are most likely to be the
  1. Select The Right Products
As with everything in life, selecting the right tool for the job is one of the key parts to successful results. Cleaning with standard products does not offer long-term protection and cleaning surfaces after every contact is not viable. Therefore, using scientifically proven long-lasting sanitisers, such as those manufactured by Zoono and offered by OneSpray will help protect in between cleaning.

OneSpray sanitisers used alongside regular cleaning are proven to provide ongoing protection for up to 30 days per applicatio
  1.  Provide Additional Products
Provide additional products such as free hand sanitiser, surface wipes. Alcohol sanitisers cannot be used by all members of the public, OneSpray offers a hand sanitiser free from alcohol and harmful chemicals and provides 24-hour protection with one application.

Provide clear communication about best practice promoting hygiene within your environments, both prior to arrival and when onsite. Communicate what action you have taken; what products are being used and how they work. Transparency improves trust and offers peace of mind for all.
